One Network for Cameras, POS and Guests: Wi-Fi for Melbourne Small Businesses

Running a cafe, shop or office? See how smart network design supports CCTV installation Melbourne cameras, payments and guest Wi-Fi. Expert network access points advice from Auztech Security.

One Network for Cameras, POS and Guests: Wi-Fi for Melbourne Small Businesses

A small business network has to do more than load emails. It carries payments, security cameras, staff devices and, often, customer Wi-Fi, all at the same time. Get the design wrong and something breaks at the worst moment. Here is how Auztech Security builds reliable business networks with network access points.

The Problem With One Shared Network

When customer phones, staff laptops, payment terminals and cameras all share one network, a problem in one area can slow everything else. Worse, guests could end up on the same network as your business data.

A Better Structure

  • Staff network: for business computers and printers
  • Payment network: a protected connection for POS and EFTPOS
  • Guest network: separate and limited, so customers can't reach business devices
  • Camera network: keeps your recordings stable and safer

Wired Backbone, Wireless Convenience

For the most reliable result, each access point is cabled back to a central switch. Cameras are connected by cable too. This is the same approach we use in a professional CCTV installation Melbourne project, so your cameras and Wi-Fi share a clean, planned system.

Why Security Matters

A guest network and proper settings protect customer data and your business. Combine that with security camera installation for visibility and an alarm systems Melbourne package for after-hours protection, and you have a complete layer of security systems Melbourne businesses can trust.

Coverage That Fits Your Space

Cafes, clinics, gyms and offices all have different layouts. We test signal strength through the whole space, so staff and guests don't hit dead spots. Explore our commercial security solutions by industry to see what we do for your type of business.

Plan Cabling Early

If you're fitting out a new shop or office, pre-wiring before the walls and ceilings are finished is far cheaper than retrofitting.

The Best Home Security Camera System in 2026: An Installer’s Honest Comparison

Image
The Best Home Security Camera System in 2026: An Installer’s Honest Comparison Every “best security camera” article you’ve read was written by someone who has never drilled a hole in a wall. They rank cameras by spec sheet. We install these systems in Melbourne homes every week, then get called back when something doesn’t work — which teaches you very different things about which cameras are actually good. This is a straight comparison of the four brands we install: Dahua , Hikvision , HiLook and Uniview . We stock all of them. We have no reason to push you toward one. First: The Thing Nobody Tells You The brand matters less than the install. A $2,000 camera system mounted at the wrong height, aimed at the wrong angle, with the recorder sitting in plain sight by the front door, is worse than an $800 system installed properly. The three things that actually determine whether your cameras identify an intruder: Height and angle. Cameras mounted too high see the top of a head. 2.5-3...
